Austin Dyne has just turned 22 and is very quick behind the wheel. Set to be the rising star in the Red Bull Global Rallycross championship series and determined to make his mark in 2014, Austin will compete in the No. 14 Barracuda Racing Ford Fiesta in partnership with Bryan Herta Racing.
Already a Rookie of the Year winner in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, a title achieved in the past by NASCAR legends such as Chad Little and David Gilliland, there is every reason to believe Austin Dyne will be challenging for podium honors in his new chosen series.
There is no question Austin grew up loving motorsports. Ever since he was young, he had a natural talent for action sports and racing. He now races in one of the most popular growing action sports on TV – Red Bull Global Rallycross.
A skilled surfer and snowboarder, Austin’s lifestyle has always included the outdoors and a love for adrenaline. Growing up, his role models included eight time Formula One winner and Indy 500 champion Juan Pablo Montoya, as well as multiple X Games gold medal winners Bucky Lasek, Dave Mirra and Travis Pastrana and late friend and mentor, Dan Wheldon.
Austin began his pursuit of becoming a racecar driver in 2007 racing go-karts, winning his first race in his debut season. Moving up to Formula cars in 2010, he scored his first victory at Lime Rock Park in the Skip Barber Eastern Championship. In 2011, at just 19 years of age, he advanced to stockcars and competed in the late model circuit at Irwindale Speedway.
A favorite personality in the paddock and a fast driver on the race track, these attributes have lead him to the professional ranks of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in 2012 where two top-five and eight top-ten finishes earned him the coveted Rookie of the Year title.
The following year, Austin’s diversified racing talents started to shine and he found himself not only competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, but also cutting his teeth in the Global Rallycross Lites- the stepping-stone series to Global Rallycross Supercars.
For the 2014 season, Austin has already been to Sweden to hone his skills on ice at Kall Auto Lodge with Olsbergs MSE principal Andreas Eriksson. To keep his reflexes sharp and stay in race mode between Red Bull Global Rallycross Supercar events, Austin also has a shifter kart program.
